Dear _Friend, Brother or Sister in Christ,

God has called me into a new adventure and we would love for you to be part of it.

Two years ago, I came to Mt Olive Baptist Church and God began to stir in my heart a passion to reach the youth in the city of Dickinson. I arrived at the church on a Monday night and to my surprise on the streets near the church were a crowd of youth.  They were stopping cars to sell drugs.  This hurt my heart and I cried out to God “what can I do to change this?!” 

It was during my two years at MOBC that God developed a desire in me to reach the emerging generation. We are deeply hurt by the statistics and the reality that shouted out to us that as Christians, we are losing this generation; the generation that’s now maturing into their twenties and thirties. God challenged us to do something about it – something that embraces those disillusioned with Christianity and the Church, but not disillusioned with God and spirituality.

The time is now!  God has placed a burden in my heart to increase the size of our church, and we are embracing his call.

Our vision is to create a place where everyone can experience God and develop new relationships in our community.  Over the past few months, we have begun the work needed to accomplish our vision and have made vast strides towards our goal.

As you can imagine, such a calling takes a tremendous investment. Not just emotionally, spiritually and physically, but financially as well.  To make this happen we need a committed network of financial support – churches, organizations, friends, and family, who believe in the importance of having lives and families changed through the work of the local Church. We need your help!

We are asking you to donate $2.00 toward our building fund. The money raised will allow us to provide free after school tutoring, summer activities for the children, adult education, and computer training programs for our community. 

We are asking that you make a personal investment in our ministry in this pivotal first year.
